Pottery North fair @The Haining 2027

The haining House, Selkirk

sat-sun October 9-10. 2027.  10.30am till 4pm.

Pottery North's annual Borders Pottery and Glass event takes place at The Haining House in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. The first event in 2026 was such a huge success and we've already agreed a second fair for 2027 - the weekend of Sat and Sun, October 9-10.  We hope it will become a regular annual events.

The fair will showcase a wide range of pottery and glass from functional to more sculptural items created by potters and glassmakers based in the Borders and Northumberland.

Applications are now open for the 2027 event. Please find information and booking forms via the link below.

The Haining country house and estate dates from the 1790s and in 2009 the almost derelict house and grounds were bequeathed to The Haining Charitable Trust which now manages the estate for the benefit of the people of Selkirkshire and the wider public.

The Trust is working on refurbishing and developing the building as a centre for exhibitions and events, highlighting art, culture and history.

Meet the Exhibitors 2026

We recently launched Pottery North with a fantastic new first event for 2026. Here are the potters, glass makers and artists who joined us and made this event such a huge success.

It all took place at the beautiful house and parklands of The Haining, at Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, where we showcased the work of potters, ceramicists, glass makers and artists from the Scottish Borders and north Northumberland, with a few from further afield.

As well as the pottery and glass event in the modern glass extension, there were also separate solo art exhibitions in some of the ground floor rooms of this beautiful Georgian House.  These include local artists Linda Scott-Robinson,  Birgitta Bennecke and a posthumous exhibition of work by Borders-based artist Nev Storer (a regular at our Tin Shed art events) who died last year. Selkirk artist Deryk Henley also staged live portrait sessions for visitors to help raise funds towards The Haining's restoration fund. There was live acoustic music by local musician Nadja Khalil who very kindly performed two beautiful sets each day.

See all the exhibitors below.

Please visit our Exhibitor Spotlight page to find out more about them.

We also have more amazing potters and glassmakers in our new online Pottery North studios.
