John Scott

John set up Sourdust Pottery at the age of 19 and quickly gained a reputation for innovative handmade, bespoke pottery. His pottery and gallery is based at Stocksfield in Northumberland, where he creates wide range of work, including Naked Raku and Copper Matt Raku.  John is a regular exhibitor at Potfest events around the country and in 2020 he was awarded the prestigious Potfest Potter of the Year prize. John, will join us at Northumberland Pottery and Glass Fair Ellingham Hall this September and also at the Borders event at The Haining in Selkirk in October. Jenny ozwell

Jenny, who is based in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders comes from a long line of artists in her family. She started out making earthenware tableware, before getting her own wheel. She was taught the basics by her husband's aunt, a retired potter, but other than that is self- taught.   After focusing on throwing, she is now expanding the decorating side, preferring it to be simple and direct.   She will join us at Northumberland Pottery and Glass Fair at Ellingham Hall on Tuesday Sept 22, 2026. Anne James

Anne creates her hand-built ceramics at her studio in rural Northumberland. Her work is influenced by the surrounding natural world and reflects growing up as a child in rural Perthshire. She works in traditional stoneware, occasionally in white stoneware, and fires in an electric kiln, creating functional and decorative pieces. Jane jennings

After a long career teaching Design and Technology, Jane took pottery lessons leading to a Masters in Ceramics at Sunderland University. She specialises in both wheel thrown and hand-built pieces whilst exploring texture, colour and the simplicity of shape in both stone and earthenware clay. With a passion for sustainability, she has emphasised in her work both functionality and aesthetics, whilst creating beautiful pieces.  Jane will join us at Northumberland Pottery and Glass Fair at Ellingham Hall on Tuesday Sept 22, 2026. Pirniepots

Ceramicist Lorna Blunt works from  Pirniepots studio at her home in the Scottish Borders. She describes herself as an enthusiastic potter, creating beautiful hand thrown, one-off stoneware, designed to be practical and functional for everyday use. Helen Pugh-Cook

Helen produces unique ceramic pieces using a range of experimental techniques. Using mostly stoneware clay, she fires her work using various techniques, including Raku. Her main influences come from the shape of Asian artifacts she has collected, and colours and textures come from the beautiful countryside surrounding her home in the Scottish Borders.
